This summer has been a busy one. We were blessed to plant the seed of God's love to 48 children during our VBS in July. Maplewood was turned into a deep sea adventure and everyone had such a great time. Looking forward to next year already! Our VBS project this year was the collection of new towels for the Open Door Mission. We collected 152 towels! WAY TO GO!

Once again, Maplewood partnered with the Open Door Mission for their "Beat the Heat" campaign. We have been collecting and delivering cases of water, lip balm, sunscreen, bug spray, and box fans. On hot days, the Open Door Mission hands out over 2,000 bottles of water so the need is great. Keep it coming!

July 28-30 was our Miscellaneous For Missions sale. We had so many wonderful treasures donated ! One large box of bedding was donated to the Nebraska Humane Society. The Open Door Mission received 150 lbs. of clothing and shoes, 50 lbs. of children's books, and 37 lbs. of stuffed toys.  All remaining unsold or donated items went to the Salvation Army. Proceeds of the sale went toward the Maplewood Mission Program.

The first of August brought the start of our C.U.P. Project (carpet, upholstery, paint) in our sanctuary. We are so excited for a new fresh look! It's still a work in progress but stay tuned for pictures of the final product!

On August 5th our Haiti Mission Team left for Caracol, Haiti, Strong Tower Orphanage,  to teach VBS to over least 450 children from all over the area. This is the fifth year Maplewood has sent a mission team. We look forward for their return and sharing their stories with us.
