Maplewood Music Ministry
The adult choir that sings three Sundays each month. It is people who love to sing and use their talents to Praise God. It requires Wednesday evening practice as well as a commitment to sing during the school year. If you have any other questions about the choir, you can contact Director, Dominic Green, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Maplewood Church Praise Band
The Maplewood Church Praise Band brings a contemporary change of pace to the music for our worship service on the fourth Sunday (and occasionally, on fifth Sundays) of every month from September through May. The band is open to all church members who enjoy sharing their musical talents to praise God through singing or playing an instrument. The current band line-up includes several vocalists, keyboards, drums, bass guitar and rhythm guitars. Drawing on a large library of modern and traditional songs, the Praise Band leads the congregation in singing uplifting and reflective pieces during Sunday service and also serves as Scripture readers. The band practices on Sundays, immediately after worship service, and on the morning it plays for a fourth-Sunday service. For more information, contact Terry Hyland at 402-203-1628 or email@example.com.
Adult Bell Choir
Plays once a month with practices every Wednesday evening. It requires the ability to read music.
Maplewood Kids Chimes are actually Maplewood 4-6th grade Sunday School students. We practice every Sunday for about 15 minutes at the start of class time. Very little previous music knowledge is needed as we teach what the kids need to know as we go along. Music is chosen to suit kids ability levels and average number of participants. The group performs at worship services roughly every other month on the second Sunday.
God's Kids is a group of young people who minister through drama and music. Lyrics to Christian songs are interpreted using props, dowel rods and sign language. Children 3rd grade and older are invited to join the group. God's Kids started in 2001 with 4 kids and we've grown since. The group meets on Wednesday nights during the school year. It is a wonderful way for the kids to witness their faith in God.
If music is one of your gifts find one of the music ministries that best fits you. And then make a joyful noise upon the Lord.
