Maplewood Music Ministry
This adult choir is made up of Maplewood members who love to sing and use their musical talents to praise God and lead worship. The Chancel Choir sings the first three Sundays of every month from September through May, and practices every Wednesday night during that period. The choir also sings for holiday services and special services (National Day of Prayer). If you are interested in joining or have any questions about the choir, please contact Director Dominic Green at email@example.com.
Maplewood Church Praise Band
The Praise Band brings a contemporary change of pace to the music for our worship service on the fourth Sunday (and occasionally, on fifth Sundays) of every month from September through May. The band also provides music for worship services every Sunday during the summer months (June through August). Praise Band is open to all church members who enjoy sharing their musical talents to praise God through singing or playing an instrument. The current band line-up includes several vocalists, piano, drums, bass guitar, rhythm guitars and cello. Drawing on a large library of modern and traditional songs, the Praise Band leads the congregation in singing uplifting and reflective pieces during Sunday service and also serves as Scripture readers. The band usually practices once during the week before it plays for worship services and early on the Sunday morning it plays. For more information, contact Director Heidi Copeland at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adult Bell Choir
The Adult Bell Choir provides special music for worship services and practices in preparation for those performances. The Bell Choir plays a variety of spiritual music, including traditional hymns and more contemporary pieces. Members are also responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the bells. This ministry requires the ability to read music. For more information, contact email@example.com.
Kids’ Chimes is made up of fourth- to sixth-grade Maplewood Sunday School students. The group practices as necessary in order to perform during worship services, usually on the second Sunday of every other month. Very little previous music knowledge is needed as group leaders teach the children the songs they will play. Music is chosen to fit the children’s ability. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
God's Kids is a group of young people from Maplewood (third-graders and older) who minister through drama and music. The group interprets lyrics of Christian songs through movement and the use of props, dowel rods and sign language. God's Kids started in 2001 with four kids and has grown over the years. The group meets for practice on Wednesday nights during the school year. It is a wonderful way for kids to witness their faith in God. For more information, contact email@example.com.
